Jah Single, also known as Evroy Lawes, is a Jamaican-born musician who channels his life experiences into powerful and uplifting music. Growing up in rural Manchester, his father's passion for music and influence on artists like Winston McaNuff and Eek-a-Mouse catalyzed Jah Single's natural evolution into the art form. At just 7 years old, his father bought him a guitar, and by age 10, he was performing live for community events and street dances, honing his craft in performance and stylized music.
After moving to Miami, Florida, Jah Single broadened his musical horizons, drawing on a range of influences to develop his unique sound. He puts his own spin on classic Reggae and Dancehall by infusing modern themes, and pays tribute to his inspirations such as Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Dennis Brown, Sizzla, Buju Banton, and Fela Kuti.
Jah Single's music is socially conscious and strikes a chord with fans who appreciate his commitment to his roots. His self-published single "Nollywood Queen," an Afro-inspired track, gave a glimpse of what was to come. However, it was the hip-hop-infused single "Mow Down" that put Jah Single on the map in the regional music scene.
Jah Single's debut 7-track EP, "In My Element," showcases his dedication to his craft and talent as a musician. By staying true to his origins and his passion for creating socially conscious music, Jah Single continues to win over fans around the world. Join him on his journey as he crosses cultural boundaries to reach new heights in his career.
